Information for Patients who have Recovered Capacity (Scotland)

Please note that recruitment to the RELIEF feasibility trial is now complete

If a patient (participant) did not have capacity to provide consent for themselves at the time a decision or action needed to be taken but regains capacity to consent during their 30-day study period, a member of the research team will ask them to give their own retrospective consent, when and if they are able.

Displayed below is an Information Sheet for Patients with Recovered Capacity (in Scotland), which explains what has happened so far in the study and what we are seeking their retrospective consent for.

If preferred, you can download the information sheet(s) by clicking on the ‘Download’ option that is underneath the display.

If there are any parts of the information sheet that you do not understand, or if you would like further information, you can speak with a member of your local participating hospital (site) research team. Alternatively, you can contact the RELIEF Central Study Office; see contact information, “here”.

NB: For patients with recovered capacity in England and Wales: please see the appropriate information page, by clicking “here”.

Please note: some of the contact details on the final page of the information sheet displayed are currently ‘highlighted/blank’. This is because it is a display template that will be updated by each of the participating sites (hospitals) so that their local contact details are included.
